Addicted to the thrill of going on visual & historical research rabbit-hunts across art, documentary photography, film and books and generally exploring the world to glean good stuff.
Coming from a Design background (with a degree from Goldsmiths, post-YBA, but still with copious amounts of conceptual thinking, more than a dash of design history & practical skills from drawing to model-making), excels at research and concept-development and adores close collaboration with Costume, Graphics & Props.
Having worked on locations in places as varied as the Scottish Highlands, Belgium, London and Warsaw, any opportunities to travel and be immersed within new cultures whilst working are very much welcomed.
Previous employed as a freelance Visual Merchandiser specialising in prop making / installation design for various independent retailers and with over ten years experience of sourcing & selling antiques across the UK and throughout Europe. Occasionally side-lines as a practising textile artist, specialising in woven textiles.
Member of the British Film Designers Guild, BAFTA & the SDSA.

I particularly enjoy working on period productions and have an exceptional network of suppliers and contacts in the UK and across Europe that is continually expanding, due to my passions for both travel and treasure-hunting.
I’ve been lucky enough to have worked across a wide range of time periods, from the 1800s to somewhere far off in the future in 2149, and I adore the research processes and ingenuity required to enable the creation of worlds outside of the contemporary.

I excel at creating visually appealing mood-boards, using appropriate and inspiring reference images, and am also super proficient at generating clear and informative dressing plans to ease communication between departments.

Having gained a BA in Design from Goldsmiths, I have a good knowledge of Design History and architectural / interior design movements.
I am never happier than when on the scent of a new addition for my personal reference library, which contains a large collection of books and magazines; from obscure documentary photography to rare interiors publications.
Suffice to say, research is my passion.

As a practising designer-maker specialising in woven textiles, I am always keen to incorporate textiles, pattern and colour wherever possible into my sets. I enjoy working closely with designers to create colour and materials palettes and have a great eye when finding suitable options for the perfect wallpaper/drapes.

Lighting is a huge favourite of mine to source - most specifically, antique/vintage lighting. I enjoy layering in options for lighting and collaborating with the DOP to enable beautiful shots of our sets.
